All last night I was up with puking Katherine and puking Mary Jane. They finally fell asleep at around 3:00 AM and woke up feeling great. I, on the other hand, woke up feeling like crapola. I had a fever, chills, aches and pains, a sore throat. I was certain I had contracted the swine flu. Around 5:30PM my fever broke, however, and other than feeling a little dizzy and light headed, I feel fine. Notice I started feeling better just in time to cook dinner.
My girls were really a great help to me. Lila helped out by keeping the boys entertained mostly in the backyard. Mary Jane pitched in and did the housework, including washing and hanging two loads of laundry on the line. Katherine took advantage of the fact that everyone was otherwise occupied and made me watch the Science channel. One show she made me watch was called Master of the Universe. I was hoping it was about He Man. No dice. It was about Stephen Hawking. It should have been titled 'Things Only Katherine and Stephen Hawking Understand." She started trying to have an intelligent conversation with me involving phrases like "string theory" and "11th dimension". It was a futile attempt on her part.
Yesterday we went to the library for a Captain Underpants extravaganza. It was for grades 1-5, but Katherine decided to tag along anyway. Let me tell you, that girl knows her CU trivia. She's so well-rounded: Captain Underpants and quantum physics. I gotta get that girl on Jeopardy.
